System Testing

There are many aspects to IT system testing, many depend upon the necessary outcome. If you are looking to confirm you have met some regulatory standard or compliance requirement, then you should choose the testing assocaited with that standard (albeit PCI, UK Accreditation, GSCx or CDS).

Before Testing starts

We recommend you check the following before letting someone run security tools against your system:

Their skills, experience and qualifications.
That they have appropriate insurance.
That you can contact them before, during and after the test.
That you both understand EXACTLY what will be tested.
That you both understand the timescales and time windows for testing.
The testers IP address.
The authority to conduct the test has been signed by both them and you.

If any of the above are not fully addressed and something goes wrong in the testing the ramifications can be significant.
